3 It Is

July 31, 2010 by Jessica 9 Comments

My daughter went and turned 3 this past week! Most say, wow, time has flown, I can’t believe it. But, I think she should be five years or something by now! lol. She’s fun ๐Ÿ™‚

Blowing out the candles
I chose to do an outer space theme for her. She has really been into astronauts, Wall-E, and space lately. She had other likes as well, but this one seemed liked the most fun.

Let me tell you, she loved her party decorations and all!

Outer Space Hello Kitty Cake
The cake was inspired by this FLickr find (the moon rocks are Astronaut Freeze Dried Icecream!) I repainted a space ship from Hobby Lobby and the Hello Kitty was completely made by me. We didn’t have a computer at that time, so I needed something easy to draw.

We hung paper stars from the ceiling with fishing line

Pink Solar System

and painted a pink solar system.

We had a lot of fun and

Everyone enjoyed the cake
lots of yummy food ๐Ÿ™‚
Happy Birthday to my big girl!

Happy belated birthday to your little one! My little dude turned two this week and we had a blast as well making chocolate cupcakes and decorating them. I also can’t believe how the time is flying! So much fun!

That’s the cutest girl space theme I’ve ever seen. Probably the only one I’ve ever seen, but it was super cute!!! Way to go mom!

Happy Birthday! Three is such a good age. They get less tantrum-y and clingy and more …just fun!

The party is so adorable. I love the pink solar system.

Happy Birthday and you and your daughter- Keep track of what your daughter is interested in – you maybe surprised where it may lead her in her life. My daughter had some interesting interests and when she grew up – it all made sense- She was a news producer- but now a mom.

I have this idea for Valentines decor on our mantl I have this idea for Valentines decor on our mantle and these fun confetti hearts I made are going to be a part of it. You can find a tutorial to make your own from @amanda_evanston . A few of the items I used in mine were: shredded Anthropologie shopping bag (and cut up the fabric handle too), cut up newspaper, hole punched card stock, fringe from yarn, cut up gold circle confetti, crinkled gift filler paper, etc... It was fun using all kinds of random things ๐Ÿ˜Š
