Getting Ready for School: Reusable Snack Bags

July 31, 2012 by Jessica 8 Comments

Reusable Lunch Bags

We are getting things ready for school around here! My sweet J will be going to kindergarten. I cannot believe it! She is so excited. During this time, I’ve been trying to find ways to make school things a little special and unique. So I was very happy to get this reusable snack bags c/o Hustle Mama.

Reusable Lunch Bags

Where we live in Louisiana, everyone wears uniforms. I really like that and I personally felt the benefits from it when I was in high school, but I also love being able to show individuality too. These snack bags are just a little way to add some of “us” to her daily activities.

Shannon sent us three sizes, perfect for snacks and a big one for a sandwich.

When they get dirty, you can just throw it in the washing machine or hand wash with hot soapy water.

They are made from food safe nylon and are moisture resistant as well. So for all you who don’t sew or don’t have the time to make your own, these are fabulous! See more of them here. I can’t wait to use them and then add other special things in her lunchbox like notes.
We are still enjoying our summer and I hope you are too, if it is that season for you ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll be back to routine here on the blog come late August. See you then!
Jess

Love these! We use cloth grocery bags and mesh produce bags. These would be a great addition to our household. Ugh, it is definitely summer for us here in Texas and it is crazy hot!!

You make a great point that this can be a fun, innocuous way to inject a little bit of personality into a situation where there are school uniforms. Smart!

I have this idea for Valentines decor on our mantl I have this idea for Valentines decor on our mantle and these fun confetti hearts I made are going to be a part of it. You can find a tutorial to make your own from @amanda_evanston . A few of the items I used in mine were: shredded Anthropologie shopping bag (and cut up the fabric handle too), cut up newspaper, hole punched card stock, fringe from yarn, cut up gold circle confetti, crinkled gift filler paper, etc... It was fun using all kinds of random things ๐Ÿ˜Š
