Potty Success

January 17, 2010 by Jessica 25 Comments

I did it! I started potty training my princess the day after I asked for your advice. THANK YOU so much to those of you who shared your experience and advice with me (read comments to this post for advice). I had that inner mommy feeling that she was ready, and I cannot say how easy it was for her to get it! The first day she had a few small accidents, but after that, none at all! We have taken her out quite a bit and she does fine. She did fine in Sunday School today too. I’m so stinkin proud of her! We did a sticker chart, which filled up faster than I thought. So last night, we took her to get her prize.

Her prize: A sparkly donut

I still can’t get over how quick she got it. I think it’s God’s grace because so many things have been really hard with her. It’s about time something was a little easy ๐Ÿ˜‰

All potty trained now!

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12

WOW! That’s all I can say, wow. I can’t believe you got her trained in one day! I’m going to have to look at the advice to see what it was! That’s awesome! Of course, I have boys, and they’re always a lot slower than the girls to learn. But, that’s impressive!

I’ve been following your blog for a couple of months now and I’m not sure if I’ve ever commented before or not. But I just had to stop by and say “way to go!!!” to your little girl. She’s adorable and as a mom of three kids myself I can say it’s always such a sweet relief when they get the potty training thing down. Great job- both of you!

Congrats on such great success! My son has been extremely difficult to train (still working on it 1 1/2 years later…***sigh***), but my daughter was a piece of cake! Mark one major hurdle off your list!

You’re daughter is really cute. I’m glad its going well for her. I’ve haven’t commented often but I thought I would share that my husband and I live in Richmond VA. The random part is that my mother in law just moved to Jacksonville a few months ago. I haven’t visited yet but my husband tells me its very nice : )

That is fantastic. I am just going through this with my daughter. My old twin daughters were hard to train, my younger is easier. I think she has almost got the idea. I agree with everyone, great job. And definately agree with Brenda, it is SO much easier when they figure out potty training.

That is great!! Good for you (and her). I have an almost 2 year old and I’m trying to figure out when to start the whole potty training thing. How old is your little one?

“How old is your little one?”

She is almost two and a half. I didn’t want to go through months of possibly cleaning up after her, so i waited until she was older. She was beginning to tell me that she had to go and would go to the potty sometimes, so I took it as a sign and just went for it. I really didn’t know how it would go. Many moms I talked to told me it took months, etc., so I was a bit worried. But not anymore ๐Ÿ™‚

Isn’t that exciting!?! I was so proud of my daughter when she “got it,” too. I don’t think I realized what a very big deal it was going to be until it was done, but it is a BIG DEAL!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Congratulations to all of you!

That’s awesome! My hubby’s mom used M&Ms to train him when he was little and it only took a day or two as well. I love the pic of her and your hubs with the chart. too cute!
