1920’s Bachelorette Pary

May 12, 2009 by Jessica 5 Comments

And last, but not least, the pictures from the Bachelorette party I threw for my future sis-in-law. I wanted to do something different, so I went with a 1920’s theme. I added a vintage flair to the invitations by gluing cut outs to the back of the envelope.
Back of invitation envelopes

I asked everyone to wear 1920’s style and put in a handout with pictures to help them acheive this with what they already had in their closet. I wore a top from Forever 21 and made a dress into a skirt that I had from TJ Maxx. The headband was from For Love 21(it’s Forever 21, but just accessories) and the necklace was one my mom had picked up from a yardsale a while ago and gave to me.
My outfit

I made Keren’s dress as well. She had no idea what was going to happen. I took this already white shirred dress from Garden Ridge and added tulle ruffles to each tier.

Then I made a top and a feather headband to go with it.

The table
For the table, I used an old tablecloth from my mom and decorated it with many kinds of vases with flowers from their backyard. Since we had this at a beachhouse, I also scattered shells around. There were candles as well. The plates at the house fit in perfectly too! I tacked up tulle on the walls and lamp.

Keren's place setting
Every girl also received a vintage tea cup (found at various thrift stores) with a brownie covered in icing, sprinkles, and a strawberry for their favor. We had a salad bar for dinner.

All of us on the beach (I’m second to the right from the girl in white).

Wow, great ideas!! It looks so fun. I might have to steal that idea for my sister whenever she needs a bachelorette party. She is way into dress up. (actually, everyone in our family gets into it – my son’s 1st bday party was a Pirate dress up party!)
