Deers for my Dear

December 8, 2011 by Jessica 10 Comments

There have been three sweet little deers that have been patiently waiting on a shelf in my office since February to be finished up. Yes, since February. Almost a year. After ignoring their calls to be finished, I finally did it. They are now complete.

These little misses were suppose to be for oldest daughter’s Valentines last year, but morning sickness had the best of me. Now they get to be stocking stuffers. The cute and free pattern is found here.

I love the tininess that they are.

I know they are just elated to become a four year old’s present. We shall see how long they last ๐Ÿ˜‰

They are a great little project to whip up fast. You could even sew the entire thing by hand if you don’t own a sewing machine. But even with sewing some of it, there is quite a bit of hand sewing involved.

It’s a great way to use up fabric scraps as not much fabric is really needed for them.

Now they await again in the office on a shelf for Christmas. But this time they are complete.

“As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.” Psalm 42:1

Oh Jessica, these are just so cute! Love the fabric choices you made. Just had to include them as part of Featured Friday this week.

I have no doubt your daughter is going to love them. But, sitting on your shelf, won’t she see them before Christmas?

OH MY GOSH! Those are just too cute. Thanks for the heads up on the pattern. I LOVE these. I know my Granddaughter will too. And it looks maybe like something I could make for our Grandson even though he’s about 5 months old now.

Hmmmmm wondering even if I made these for our Grandpuppies and put squeakers in the bellies if they would like them. ๐Ÿ™‚ We have 2 Grandpuppies and they are very small with one weighing only about 4 lbs and the other 8 lbs. They don’t even try to mess with my cat since my cat could take them easily as he weighs in at 18 lbs. LOL He just looks at those hyper dogs running circles around him, sticks his nose up and walks away as if he’s being bothered by a gnat. haha

Michele- They are safe on the shelf ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t go in my office at all unless my girls are sleeping. I really try to be one hundred percent theirs when they are awake and save my time for later. And if by chance she’s in there, they are up high and the shelf is behind the door ๐Ÿ˜‰

Vicki- hahaha I bet that’s fun to watch ๐Ÿ™‚ You might want to enlarge the pattern a bit if you want to add a squeaker. But, I guess they might make small ones? Let me know if you do. It’s a good idea!
