Refresh Your Step: Day 2

June 2, 2009 by Jessica 2 Comments

Clip On Embellishments

Oh how I love making these. I have done this for many a years when I needed to dress up a pair of shoes. It’s super easy too. Just glue a pair of clip on earring findings to whatever you want to adorn your shoes, and viola! A quick removable upgrade. I also used an actual pair of vintage earrings on my shoes as well.

Before (oh so boring are the shoes of Jessica…)
Before Embellishing

After (much better!)

Yo yo's and buttons on flip flops
Yo-yo’s with a button clip ons
A flower to brighten your day
Pretty flower clip ons
Vintage Earrings

And, here is a cute button embellishment how to I found on Craft Stylish.

Remember, if you have done a shoe makeover yourself, add your pics to the Shoe Makeover Flickr Group, or share a link, etc. in the discussion part of the group. I will be sharing these throughout the week for all to see.

Do you only use earrings? What kind of clips do you recommend?

I have only used clip on earring backs, but alligator clips would work as well. I just like the hold that the earring clips provide. I just went to Michael’s and found some in the jewelry section (with the “findings”, the non-bead part of jewelry making). If you find something else that works, let me know and I’ll update the post with your idea.

Easter and Spring Break are now behind us, but it Easter and Spring Break are now behind us, but it was such a good time! For this past Easter I really wanted to make egg aprons for miss E and my other young nieces and nephew that are here. I looked at a bunch of pictures and just kind of figured it out myself, but I made four aprons that can hold up to 10 eggs. Thankfully I had enough fabric already to make them 🙌 It won’t be too long until my youngest will be too old for some of this, so I am trying to squeeze it all in before that happens 💛
