You

March 7, 2010 by Jessica 32 Comments

This week I have been praying a bit more than usual. I have a family member who is in critical condition right now and I know a few others who are dealing with fatal physical conditions too. Tonight as I was praying for them and some other things that have been on my heart I just felt led to do write this post. I know I do not know most of you in real life, but I still feel like I know you, know what I mean? I share my life, ideas, creations and you share them back with me.
I want to take this opportunity to ask if you need prayer for something. Anything. Whether you believe in God or not, I want you to know that I care and want to pray for you/whoever/whatever. Just send me an email if you like, leave a comment, be anonymous or share your life story. I won’t mind.

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12

“He said to them, “When you pray, say:
‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.’ Then he said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.’ Then the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man’s boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs. So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:2-13

What a great post. I actually would like you to help me pray for a few friends…some in real life and one blogger friend.

I have a blogger friend that has endured 4 miscarriages in the past year and is finally, after 1 failed IVF, pregnant with twins! I am just praying that this pregnancy will finally bring them the babies that they have longed for.

The second a really close friend of mine was just delivered the news that her two year old has type 1 diabetes. He was put into ICU in critical condition just last Sunday, but has since gotten better and has now been home for three days. I just pray that everything stays on the right track for this little one. He is such a great kid and happens to have been my daughters best friend since 6 months old, they are also 29 hours apart.

Thank you again for this post. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers as well.

    Warm hugs and prayers….Tracy πŸ™‚

This post really touched me, as my great grandmother passed away a couple weeks ago. Although I was not as close with her as I would have liked to have been (language barrier, dementia), I still miss her very much. I will be praying for your family members.

I’m a regular reader of your blog….just haven’t commented. I hadn’t been to your blog in a bit, but stopped by today and your post really spoke to me.

Just last week my not even 3 yr old niece was diagnosed with cancer. I may just be her aunt, but she feels like she is one of my kids. And it really hurt to hear the news. She had to have surgery and as far as we know they were able to remove all the cancer. My niece has so much life and energy to give. I pray that God heals her of the disease totally. She will have to go through chemo, but this little girl is my hero.

I will keep your family members in my prayers also.

My husband’s work moved us to Ohio almost 2 years ago. On his pay at that time we thouht it would be difficult financialy, but his boss insured us that with a couple of months he would recieve a nice sized raise. He has recently taken his 5th pay cut since moving up to Ohio. We have both looked for other employement, but have had no luck.

Wow, what an inspiring post. I believe that this is exactly what God wants from us. A showing of love and desire to do what we can for others, believers or not. So powerful. Thank you for inspiring me to go out and offer the same. I will pray for your family as well.

I don’t need any prayers, but was so thankful a couple weeks ago when I needed them for my little sister and new niece. I was so grateful to have all my online friends praying for them. You have my prayers and support.

If you could include a friend of mine in your prayers, I’d appreciate it. Actually 2 of them (I know it’s a lot to ask). One has been trying to get pregnant for almost 5 years now. They’ve tried many different treatments and are having a really hard time keeping their spirits up.
The other friend has tried to get pregnant for many years, and when it didn’t happen they decided to adopt, which they did last September. Just recently she found out she is pregnant (finally!), but she’s just worried about everything going ok. If you wouldn’t mind keeping them in mind. I’d appreciate it!
Thanks for your beautiful post! Keep your spirits up! πŸ˜€

That’s a great post! It’s good to see people in the blog world reaching out to eachother in faith!

It would be great if you’d say a prayer for my neice Rosemarie (now 3 1/2 yrs old who has been battling cancer for more than two years. She has recently had a really amazing/terrifying radiocative treatment and this week they have scans done to see if it worked or not. She’s so little and has been through so very much. Please pray for her and for her parents and older sister. It’s a very hard time waiting for those results!

Thank you so much for your prayers! God provides! πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for this post. I read all the comments and said a prayer for each person that asked in need. I prayed for you and your family too. So many of the comments were lives touched by cancer. Which I am blessed enough to be in remission from. Other posts talked about lives being touched or troubled by infertility. I suffered that also. Your post reminded me how blessed I am and how thankful I should be I don’t give thanks enough for my blessings. Thank you very very much for reminding me.

My girlfriend and her husband are going through a rough patch. It looks like after just over a year of marriage, one party wants to end it. It breaks my heart, and neither are believers. I am trying to get out of the habit of telling God how he needs to answer prayers, especially with this situation, and simply telling him the problem and trusting that he will follow through with His best plan.

    Thanks for your prayers!!

Jessica I’ll pray for your family members and everyone on this list who mentioned a need.

My husband and I have been experiencing infertility. We had one early miscarriage and no luck since. It’s been very difficult for us, wanting to create life together so badly.

    Jessica,
I have no idea how I missed this post but this is so amazing. It is bold, heart warming, and so incredibly God honoring. And if you can fit it in…a house. It feels so shallow but we need to buy a home because the owner of our rental home is being foreclosed upon. That’s it. πŸ™‚

Easter and Spring Break are now behind us, but it Easter and Spring Break are now behind us, but it was such a good time! For this past Easter I really wanted to make egg aprons for miss E and my other young nieces and nephew that are here. I looked at a bunch of pictures and just kind of figured it out myself, but I made four aprons that can hold up to 10 eggs. Thankfully I had enough fabric already to make them πŸ™Œ It won’t be too long until my youngest will be too old for some of this, so I am trying to squeeze it all in before that happens πŸ’›
